French Bedside Tables

French Bedside Tables

These two pieces are typical French bedside tables, very ornate with marble tops and very heavy!  You see them everywhere in France at the Brocantes (Flea Markets) and Vide Greniers (Boot Market). I love them, they stand so grand but they were far to big for my bedroom, plus, I already had bedside tables.  I already have another style in my bathroom (where they also look great), so, as I was running out of rooms, I thought they would look good in my lounge.  I must admit they sat there for a while, whilst I worked out what colour I...

Little 'HAM' Cupboard

Little 'HAM' Cupboard

This little fellow cost me just 5 euros (it needed lots of love!) and thought it would look great in my recently finished lounge, painted in my new favourite colour, 'Hot as Mustard' (hence the HAM reference) from the  Frenchic Lazy Range.  I started with giving the cupboard a good clean and sanded the old varnish, that was clinging on to the top, as the plan was to stain with the same stain that I used on my beams and then wax. The Royal British Legion Event - Le Petit Paris 16320

With Rule Britannia blasting out of the sound system and stall holders proudly wearing their loved ones medals, it was hard to believe that we were in the middle of rural France.  However, the giveaway was yet another glorious day, with the sun beating down in South West Dordorgne.  It was not quite bikini weather but being the 1st November, everyone was certainly enjoying basking in the sun with their cuppa and cake. We set up our stall with a selection of items to promote my Up-cycling Workshops and set out a display for the Frenchic goodies.  I prepared a side table...

TRASH-to-TREASURE Workshops Bertric Buree - 10th October 2017

TRASH-to-TREASURE Workshops Bertric Buree - 10th October 2017

A great time was had by all in my new training room for my latest TRASH-to-TREASURE workshop. I do love my creative space and it was great to share it with others.  The room is stuffed full of my little creations and latest creative projects, which hopefully helps with some inspiration. So, everyone bought their rubbish... well and lots of nice things!  I think we had every shape and size of glassware made, jugs, china, tins, milk churns and even a small door from a motor home made an appearance. An old pickle jar waiting for a spruce up with...
